Musiq Soul SA

Musiq Soul SA real name Dube Sthembiso, born 11 February 1992, is a South African Deep Afro Tech house producer and DJ. He has releases under 247 house and radio, London, UK.

Musiq Soul SA is known as one of the most revered members of the house scene. He has made it his duty to share deep house beats with a growing global audience! As a member of the Respect roster of artists, his respect is burning parties and CD series has kept listeners on the pulse of the hot house scene!

Musiq Soul SA started djing about nine years ago. At the time House music was definitely an underground movement and the South African scene was just starting to develop. Wisdom Madiba “Dj Wizzy Nature” gave Musiq Soul SA his “first chance” to DJ, first at a bar in Polokwane, then at club Le Palace for the Zoo parties.

At the same time, Musiq Soul SA started to host his radio show on radio FG 100.01, everyday from noon to 2 PM. A year after he invited his DJ colleagues, DJ Wizzy Nature and Augush from Mpumalanga to join him and the show was then named “Deep Interludes” where you could hear everything from Mos Def to Jeff Mills, with a true passion for real deep underground House music. As Musiq Soul became a key figure of the Nelspruit scene he put together “What’s Up Mix It” with friends from the label What’s up, this compilation featured for the first time together artists such as Dimitri from Paris, DJ Cam, Saint Germain, Gilb’r, and a track of his own “Indegenous Knowledge”.

In 2013 “the fire” and “the earth” EP’s came out on Win Records under the moniker The Deep, those 12 were produced by Augush and Musiq Soul.

2017 will see the release of his third mix CD, again on Distance (featuring tracks by Andrew Lord, E-KAY, Black Coffee, Augush…)
